Privacy policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. Data controller
Personal data collected in connection with the Daremeet service (the "Service") is processed by the publisher of the Service (the "Publisher"), contactable at the address given in the "Contact" section.
The Data Protection Officer (DPO) is the same as for Verisav (CNIL designation DPO-168738). For any question regarding your personal data or to exercise your rights, you may contact the DPO at the coordinates given in the "Contact" section.
2. Data collected
When using the Service (website and mobile application), the following may be collected: account identifiers (email, third-party login ID), profile data (username, photo, preferences), location data (for the map and challenges — only with your consent and manual check-in, see section 4), content you publish (text, photos, videos), usage data (actions in the app), technical data (IP address, device type, logs).
Data is collected upon registration, when using the Service and when interacting with features (challenges, map, shares, meetups).
3. Purposes and legal bases
Data is processed to: provide and operate the Service; manage your account; display your position on the map only after consent and manual check-in; moderate content, process reports and blocks; communicate with you; improve the Service and aggregated analytics; comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases: performance of the contract, consent (location, cookies when required), legitimate interest (security, moderation), compliance with legal obligations.
4. Location and display on the map
Your position is never displayed on the map without your agreement. The application requests permission to access location (system permission); you may decline; in that case, the map remains usable but your position is not shared.
Display of your position to other users is strictly manual: you must yourself enable the "Appear on the map" option each time you wish to be visible. There is no automatic check-in option or continuous sharing of your position. You may at any time disable display on the map or revoke location permission.
5. User-generated content (UGC), blocking and reporting
Content you publish (text, photos, videos) is stored and displayed as part of the Service. You may report any inappropriate content; other users may block you; blocking notifies the Publisher and immediately removes the blocked user's content from the blocking user's feed.
Reports and blocks are processed by the Publisher. Where content violates the rules, the Publisher commits to act within 24 hours (removal of content, sanctions) in accordance with the Terms of Use.
6. Retention
Data is retained for the duration of use of the account. After the account is closed, data is deleted or anonymised within the periods required by regulation and the needs of the Service (evidence in case of dispute, accounting, moderation).
Logs and technical data may be retained for a limited period for security and proper operation of the Service.
7. Recipients of data
Data is accessible to authorised teams of the Publisher and, where applicable, to processors (hosting, technical tools, support), in compliance with contractual guarantees and the GDPR.
No sale of personal data to third parties for commercial purposes is carried out. Location and profile data is shared with other users only as described above (map with consent and manual check-in).
8. Transfers outside the EEA
Where data is transferred to a country outside the European Economic Area (EEA), appropriate safeguards are put in place (standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, etc.) in accordance with the GDPR.
9. Your rights
You have the right to: access your data; rectification; erasure (subject to legal obligations); restriction of processing; data portability; object; withdraw your consent at any time; lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in France: CNIL).
To exercise these rights, contact the Publisher or the DPO at the coordinates given in the "Contact" section.
10. Minors
The Service is intended for persons who have reached the legal age of majority in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal data concerning minors. If you become aware that a minor has provided data via the Service, please contact us at contact@daremeet.com so that it may be deleted.
11. Security
The Publisher implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, destruction or alteration, in accordance with GDPR requirements.
12. Cookies and trackers
The website and application may use cookies or trackers for technical operation, audience measurement or preferences. You can manage your choices via your browser or application settings. A dedicated cookie policy may be available on the website.
13. Changes to this policy
The Publisher reserves the right to modify this privacy policy. Users will be informed of substantial changes (notification in the app or by email). The last updated date is indicated at the top of the document. We encourage you to review this page regularly.
