Safety tips

Meeting new people and taking on real-life challenges is great, but you should always stay cautious with strangers. Use your judgment and make your safety a priority, both in the app and when meeting in person. You can't control others' actions, but you can take steps to stay safe on Daremeet.

Online and in-app safety

• Never send money or share banking details Never transfer money (wire, payment app, etc.), even if the person claims it's urgent. Don't share information that could give access to your accounts. If someone asks you for money, report them immediately. • Protect your personal information Don't give your address, social security number or details of your routine (gym, commute) to people you don't know. Stay on the platform for initial exchanges: people with bad intentions often try to move the conversation off the app (SMS, email, etc.). • Report suspicious behaviour Requests for money, harassment, threats, fake profiles, spam or inappropriate content: block and report. You can report from your profile or in the chat. See our Terms of Use for community rules.

In-person meetups

• Take your time Get to know the person before meeting or talking outside the app. A phone or video call can help you feel more comfortable before a first meetup. • Meet in a public place Always choose a public place for first meetups (café, park, challenge spot). Avoid your place, theirs or anywhere isolated. If you're pushed towards a private location, end the meetup. • Tell someone Let a friend or family member know where you're going and when. Keep your phone charged and on you. You can share your location with someone you trust during the meetup. • Stay in control of how you leave Plan how you'll get back (transport, ride-share, friend). You should be able to leave whenever you want. • Watch alcohol and your belongings Alcohol and drugs affect your judgment. Don't leave drinks or belongings unattended. If you don't feel comfortable, you have the right to end the meetup — and we recommend you do.

Reporting an incident

If behaviour or content violates our Terms of Use or puts you in a difficult situation, report it from the app (profile or conversation). In an emergency or if you're in danger, contact the authorities (police, emergency services). For any questions: contact@daremeet.com
