Cookie policy
Last updated: May 2026
This cookie policy explains what cookies and trackers are, how Daremeet uses them on its website and in its application, and how you can manage your preferences.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website or use an application. It allows the server to recognise your device on later visits. "Trackers" refers more broadly to technologies used to store or access information on your device (cookies, pixels, identifiers, local storage, etc.).
2. Types of cookies we use
Daremeet may use:
• Strictly necessary cookies: essential for the operation of the website and application (session, security, essential preferences). They do not require your consent.
• Functionality and personalisation cookies: to remember your choices (language, settings) and improve your experience.
• Audience measurement cookies: to understand how the site or application is used (pages viewed, journeys), in an aggregated and anonymised way, to improve our services. Audience measurement is provided by Google Analytics 4 (IP anonymisation enabled). These trackers are only loaded if you accept the "Audience measurement" category.
• Marketing / advertising trackers: if you accept the "Advertising / marketing" category, we may load technologies provided by Meta (Facebook / Instagram — Meta Pixel), Google (Google Ads, global site tag) and TikTok (TikTok Pixel). They are used for remarketing (showing you relevant ads), measuring campaign effectiveness, and building audiences in the ad platforms (including similar / lookalike audiences managed by those partners under their own rules). These trackers are never placed without your prior consent for this purpose.
3. Purposes and legal basis
Necessary cookies rely on our legitimate interests and/or performance of the service. Audience measurement and marketing cookies and trackers are used only on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), collected via the banner and changeable at any time.
Purposes: operation and security; remembering your preferences; aggregated audience measurement; advertising, remarketing and campaign optimisation when you have consented. We do not sell your personal data to third parties for advertising purposes.
4. Managing your preferences
On your first visit to the site, a banner offers you three options: accept all (all cookies), reject all (only strictly necessary cookies), or customise (choose category by category: necessary, audience measurement, marketing). You can change your choices at any time.
Meta, Google Ads and TikTok trackers are not loaded until you accept the marketing category.
You can at any time manage or refuse cookies:
• In your browser: via settings or options (cookie management, privacy). Disabling certain cookies may limit some features of the site.
• In the Daremeet application: via account or application settings, when choices are offered to you.
For more on managing cookies in your browser, you can refer to the relevant help pages (e.g. Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge support).
5. Advertising partners and third-party trackers (Meta, Google, TikTok)
When you accept marketing, the following providers may place or read cookies / identifiers and receive technical signals related to your browsing (page views, interactions) for the purposes described above:
• Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd (Meta Pixel — ads on Facebook, Instagram and partner networks). Policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
• Google Ireland Ltd (Google Ads, measurement and remarketing via the site tag). Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
• TikTok Technology Ltd or the TikTok entity designated in your region (TikTok Pixel). Policy: https://www.tiktok.com/legal/privacy-policy
These companies may act as joint controllers or processors depending on the services; their processing is governed by their terms and the options available in their privacy centres. Audiences (including lookalike) are created and used in those platforms' advertising interfaces, in line with your consent choices and the account settings you apply there.
6. Retention and proof of consent
The retention periods for cookies and identifiers depend on each tracker and the platforms' settings (for example up to about 13 months for some analytics-type cookies, and variable durations for marketing depending on Meta, Google or TikTok).
When you make a choice on the banner, we technically store on your device: your preferences by category, the date and time of recording, and an identifier for the version of this cookie policy. These elements help demonstrate consent and apply your preferences (including after you reload the page). They are not used for profiling beyond this management.
